NEWS : The XVIth International Congress of Architecture in SEOUL


THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF WOMEN ARCHITECT - U.I.F.A.
was created in 1963, in Paris (Law of 1901)

Its aim is to make known and to promote the Woman Architect, to establish relationship and exchanges between professionnal Women in the frame of life ; to collect all information concerning the statute and professional life of these women all over the world, to favor friendship links and solidarity, between all members, without political, racial or confessional discrimination
Also, to speak on their behalf to Economic and Social Authorities, as well as to Public Opinion, in order to ensure a better understanding of their task and responsibility, in daily life.

The U.I.F.A. counts Women Architect from 75 different countries, with individual members and also affiliated National Association. It keeps in relation with the International Union of Architects - U.I.A. - and aslo with other International Associations, interested in the field of Building and Environment.

The International Union of Women Architect is financed through the dues of its members and by the donations and subventions of private persons and public organizations, supporting its activities. U.I.F.A. organizes meetings, exhibitions and National as well as International Congresses, all over the world.

Together with the "International Archives of Women in Architecture" - L.A.W.A. (USA) - it gathers all information and documents regarding Women Architect's works, across ages, in order to settle up the history of Women Architect's evolution and their works in each country, in a Library with world-wide character.
